Only 19% of CSU students graduate in four years, 25 percent below the national average. My bill offers a tuition freeze, priority registration and advising to students who maintain 30 units per academic year and a minimum GPA.

A longtime critic of BART is blasting the transit agency, saying BART is doling out millions of dollars of bonuses to their employees while claiming they don’t have money for much-needed repairs.




 

REGIONAL (KRON/BCN) — BART is facing criticism today for providing contractually required bonuses to employees, but the transit agency is arguing the bonuses are an important incentive for hard-working employees.




 

The record rise in BART ridership last year was a bonanza for the rail system’s 3,357 employees, each of whom received a $1,000 bonus because of the surge in commuters.

And they appear on track for another bonus this year.

WALNUT CREEK -- Saying BART has been irresponsible with its money over time, a group of East Bay elected officials called on BART to renegotiate its 2013 employee contracts before going to voters in November with a $3 billion bond measure to pay for rail system improvements.
