Sen. Glazer Urges Congress to Direct Department of Defense to Back Down on Bonus Clawbacks

Friday, November 04, 2016

It was unfair that the federal government was clawing back bonuses it had mistakenly given to California’s Army National Guard members who took them in good faith. So I am glad to see the Department of Defense is now suspending  their efforts requiring soldiers and their families to repay the bonuses, which would have been a terrible burden on those who have devoted their lives to protecting our country. Below is the letter that I signed along with a number of my legislative colleagues urging Congress to direct the Department of Defense to reverse its policy of taking back bonuses from National Guard members.
