Is the Fresh Food Supply Chain Breaking Down?

Senator Glazer spoke to experts about how California’s farm-to-table supply chain is faring under the enormous pressures of the Coronavirus pandemic. He explored these issues as dairies are dumping milk and farmers are plowing under crops because restaurant closures have sharply limited their purchases.

This event, Senator Glazer’s 14th Virtual Town Hall during the Coronavirus crisis, is available in the audio box below.

The guests were:

  • Jamie Johansson, president of the California Farm Bureau
  • Estella M. Cisneros, Regional Director of Advocacy, Agricultural Worker Program, California Rural Legal Assistance, Inc.
  • Matt Sutton, senior vice president of government affairs for the California Restaurant Association
  • Ben Palazzolo, Direct of marketing for the Pacific Coast Farmers’ Market Association, which manages markets in Dublin, Concord and Brentwood as well as other locations throughout the Bay Area.
