When Wells Fargo refused to appear before my Senate Banking & Financial Institutions panel to answer questions about their scandal, they reminded me of another bad corporate actor: Enron, the last corporation that refused to testify at a Legislative committee. Wells Fargo must come clean about the system they fostered for cheating customers.




The Wells Fargo fraud has resulted in $185 million in penalties so far. But has the Bank taken steps to hold those accountable? My hearing of the Senate Banking Committee yesterday revealed that over 480 Branch Managers were also fired for engaging in illegal behavior.




It was unfair that the federal government was clawing back bonuses it had mistakenly given to California’s Army National Guard members who took them in good faith.

It was exciting to gather on Mount Diablo, the majestic centerpiece of Senate District 7, to celebrate completion of the Mount Diablo State Park Road Safety Improvements project. Today's event was the culmination of the hard work and persistence of a small, but mighty group of determined park patrons who worked with park staff to improve safety for cyclists and motorists on Mount Diablo.
