SF Chronicle's Matier & Ross: BART on track to dispense more big bonuses as system falters

The record rise in BART ridership last year was a bonanza for the rail system’s 3,357 employees, each of whom received a $1,000 bonus because of the surge in commuters.

And they appear on track for another bonus this year.

BART paid a little over $3.3 million to its employees in July, when core ridership on the system averaged 373,569 — 4.5 percent over what was forecast for 2015.

The system is on track this year to go over the 365,498 minimum ridership average needed for workers to qualify for another bonus.
