Know Your Rights - Resources for Immigrant Communities

Dear friend,

Working in partnership with state and local leaders in the Bay Area, I am committed to vigorously supporting and defending your constitutional rights.

If you choose to participate in actions, express your First Amendment rights peacefully. This administration is attempting to create chaos in order to provoke people to create an excuse to deploy the military against us. Do not fall for the bait. Any acts of violence will not be tolerated. People have the right to protest outside of federal facilities, but blocking access to them is prohibited.

We are united in protecting our communities. California is a sanctuary state - this means that our police department will not assist with immigration enforcement officials in any way. We recognize that the actions from the federal administration only harm our public safety, and it is our obligation to protect you.

In response to threats of a federal immigration operation, I wanted to share resources to keep you and your neighbors safe and informed. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to my office or use the resources below.
