SACRAMENTO – Senator Steve Glazer, D-Contra Costa, and Pedro Hernandez of California Common Cause will hold a Zoom press availability at 1 p.m. tomorrow, Thursday, May 25, to respond to an expected Sacramento Superior Court ruling on a lawsuit seeking to block pay to play practices of local government officials.  

Glazer authored SB 1439, which prohibits local elected officials from voting on matters from interests who have contributed $250 or more to that official.  

Special interests advancing the case include the California Building Industry Association,  California Restaurant Association, California Retailers Association, California Business Roundtable and others. The Fair Political Practices Commission was the defendant represented by the Attorney General. The court’s final decision is expected tomorrow morning.
