Senator Scott Wiener

1021 O St, Suite 8620

Sacramento, CA 95814

Dear Senator Wiener,

We closed the legislative session for the year and I want to provide you with an update on important legislative and budget matters.

I am holding this town hall to make experts available to answer your questions about:

- What is Monkeypox?
- How are local public health departments and the State of California responding to the outbreak?
- What can we do as individuals to keep ourselves and our loved ones safe?
- How can I be immunized for Monkeypox?

SACRAMENTO – Californians would have the opportunity to help raise awareness of rising mental health concerns for youth by purchasing specially designed license plates under legislation by Senator Steve Glazer, D-Contra Costa, approved by the full Senate today.

SACRAMENTO – Senator Steve Glazer will lead a conversation with Bay Area health officials on Friday, November 20, about the latest surge in COVID-19 cases, the revised health orders as well as the next steps doctors are advising we take to stay safe over the holidays.

We’ve covered a lot of ground since the beginning of 2018 – hosting five more bipartisan town hall meetings, participating in an education forum, and introducing a new legislative package. I chaired a third hearing of the Senate Select Committee on Student Success, exploring the critical issue of community college transfers.

Thank you to the over 150 parents, teachers and community members who attended the Lamorinda education forum at Stanley Middle School in Lafayette. I enjoyed participating, along with Assembly Member Catharine Baker, in this deep discussion of the state budget and education finance.

As we near the end of 2017, we count our blessings, visit family, rekindle old friendships, and reach out to those who might need a little help. It’s the time of year when we reflect on things we haven’t had a chance to ponder in the hurly-burly of our fast-paced everyday life.
