On February 3, Senator Steve Glazer and 31 other East Bay elected officials sent a letter to the Board of BART and its employee unions. The letter read:




Sen. Steve Glazer co-hosted a town hall meeting with Assemblywoman Catharine Baker in Orinda on January 23 to discuss their legislative priorities for 2016. It was one of five that the two East Bay legislators have scheduled together.




Sacramento – “I appreciate the Governor’s careful stewardship of California’s finances in his proposed budget. In particular, I applaud him for setting aside money into the rainy day fund for future economic downturns. The Governor continues to offer critical support for our public schools by providing billions more for K-12 education. I also support his call for a tuition freeze for CSU and UC and for advancing our efforts to improve our four-year college graduation rates.




Sacramento – Senate President pro Tempore Kevin de León has announced the committee assignments for newly-seated State Senator Steven M. Glazer (D-Contra Costa). Glazer will be a member of the Senate Committee on Governmental Organization, Committee on Insurance and Committee on Public Safety.

Before his election to the State Senate, Glazer served in local government as a city council member, three-time mayor of the City of Orinda, and as a senior advisor to the Governor of the State of California.




Sacramento – As the state rebounds from an era of cuts to education spending, a bipartisan coalition in the State Senate authorized new money for school transportation programs. The new money will help reimburse school districts for the money they spend on busing and transportation for students with special needs.




Sacramento – Newly-elected State Senator Steven M. Glazer (D-Contra Costa) was sworn in today to represent Senate District 7. Glazer won a special election held last week to fill the vacancy of former Senator Mark DeSaulnier, who was elected to Congress.
